Starting 02/04/10 and every Thursday thereafter (excluding 02/28 RethinkPopMusic Showcase at Santos Party House and 03/18 SXSW), The Village Lantern will become the independent artists’ playground. This project is not intended for acoustic singer/songwriter types, but artists already in a band with no intention of going solo. B-Sides Live will have no cover charge, no fliers and little public promotion.

Artists will have total administrative control of the event, deciding who they want to invite (if anyone) and whether or not they want to publicize their band affiliation. If artists want to play their entire album acoustically, instrumental, collaborate or simply play their favorite covers for an hour… doesn’t matter.

Spread simply though word of mouth via the independent artist community, RethinkPopMusic intends to create a following organically. And the vibe of B-Sides Live will be identical to jamming for your closet friends in your living room. You never know who will show up!
